PANAMA: Venue of the Week

The Museum of Soviet Arcade Games (St. Petersburg)

This museum is located a few steps from the Baltiyskiy Station, and part of the exhibition includes a great collection of old steam engines, coaches, and other rolling stock on the disused platforms and tracks behind the station. Indoors, railway buffs will find a treasure trove of Soviet and Russian railway uniforms and other train-related memorabilia, but the pride of the collection is the Scalpel (SS-24) rail-mounted missile system.

A branch of the museum was opened on June 15, 2013 on Koniushennaya Square in St. Petersburg.It is located in a building that was used to store carriages in the 18th century. Garages, repair and production workshops of the Leningrad taxi fleet #1 were located on this territory during the Soviet times. The branch collection includes more than 50 working arcade machines. According to the museum, the number of visitors to the St. Petersburg branch in 2016 totalled 23 000 people, which is 9% more than in 2015 Perfect venue to include to Treasure Hunt games or City Rally with Communist or Soviet theme.
