Russia to Host the IPHS (International Planning History Society) 2020 Conference
For the first time Russia will host the International Planning History Society Conference. Through the collaborative effort of the Russian Convention Bureau and the Concord Group supported by the Roscongress Foundation, following the presentation of the Russia’s bidding committee, Moscow was chosen as the venue for the IPHS 2020 conference. The conference will take place on 1–5 July 2020. Its theme will be ‘City Space Transformation: Renovation of The Urban Environment’.
Museum of Historic Dockyard "Poltava" will be opened for visitors starting from September
In September, at the Historic Dockyard «Poltava» in Saint Petersburg will open an interactive museum, where it is planned to conduct excursions around the ship of the same name. Decks of sailing ships, located at the shipyard will be available for visit.

Last Sunday, May 26, in the framework of the longest host country tour in history, the FIFA World Cup Trophy was presented to the visitors of Gala concert on Palace Square in St Petersburg. New Museum of Aviation will be opened in St. Petersburg
The Aviation Museum will be located in the former training aeronautical park in the Moskovsky District. A copy of the Sikorsky S-16 fighter, which is currently being assembled, will become a main exhibit of the museum. In total, there are only 15 such aircraft in the world, so the design of its copy forced the museum staff to collect information from a variety of sources.

The first three floating hotels will be built in St. Petersburg, Russia’s second largest city and one of most popular tourist destinations, in 2018, Andrei Mushkarev, the head of the local tourism committee, said. «The construction of the first hotel has been completed by 90% and it is scheduled to open in May on the Vyborg embankment,» Mushkarev said, adding that the four-star hotel will have 76 rooms.
