A DIRECT FERRY SERVICE BETWEEN STOCKHOLM AND ST. PETERSBURG TO OPEN IN APRIL 2011

Opening in April of this year, the direct ferry service between St. Petersburg and Stockholm will increase the tourist flow from Sweden to Russia by 15-25% compared to 2010.

Ferry round trips will be performed twice a week, travel time will be about 25 hours. The ferry «Princess Anastasia» will operate on the line, it can carry 2,215 passengers and 580 cars.

Opening a new line will enable St. Petersburg to receive additional 400 thousand tourists in 2011.  The Swedes will be more active to visit Russia as tourists.

SOCHI OLYMPICS WILL HAVE THREE MASCOTS!!!

Leopard, Polar Bear and Bunny officially proclaimed mascots of the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 following the results of an all-Russian SMS-voting which finished on Saturday.

The winners were announced at an evening 115-minute TV show.

The leopard received 28% of the votes, 18% and 16% voted for the polar bear and the hare, respectively.

Fire Boy and Snowflake were selected mascots for the Paralympics.
