SHEREMETYEVO RECOMMENDS PASSENGERS TO USE AEROEXPRESS TO TRAVEL TO THE AIRPORT TILL THE END OF JUNE
Due to the planned renovation of the flight strip at Moscow's Vnukovo airport, flights of special flying squad «Russia», which serves top officials of the country, were shifted from Vnokovo to Sheremetyevo airport.
In this regard, starting from 15 April to 30 June 2011 the administration of the Sheremetyevo airport recommends its passengers to use Aeroexpress trains for transfer to/from the airport, in order to avoid traffic jams. Aeroexpress trains depart from Belarus station in Moscow every 30 minutes and travel time to the airport is 35 minutes, trains run every day 05:00 to 01:00.
ON APRIL 16TH VISA FREE REGIME CAME INTO FORCE BETWEEN RUSSIA AND TURKEY
On April 16, an agreement regarding terms of mutual trips of citizens of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey came into force between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Turkey.
Under the agreement, citizens of Russia and Turkey will be required to have a valid General Civil or service (special) passport for: the entry, exit or transit and stay in another country within 30 days from date of entry. However, citizens, planning a stay, exceeding 30 days to work or study on the territory of other state must have visas.
Holders of diplomatic passports may enter the countries without visas in accordance with Russia-Turkey intergovernmental agreement of November 5, 1999.
RUSSIA WILL RUN THE TOURIST TRAIN FROM MOSCOW TO BEIJING
Fascinating journey time will take two weeks! The Russian Railway company (RZD-tour) plans to launch tourist train between Moscow and Beijing in August of this year. The first voyage of tourist train will depart from Moscow on Aug. 14, 2011 and will arrive in Beijing on August 28. Beijing — Moscow train will depart on August 22 and arrive in Moscow on September 15th.
The train will follow its route, with stops for city sightseeing in Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Ulan Bator and Erlyane. Also, the program will include a trip to the Round-Baikal Railway, built on the shores of Lake Baikal, and the night in the Mongolian yurt.
Three or four passengers will be able to accommodate in one standard compartment of the train, and in the semi-lux and lux compartments — one or two passengers. For the convenience of its passeners the train will compose of two cars with restaurant, one with bar, one with canteen and a car with shower compartments for passengers from standard compartments and semi-lux compartments. Passengers from lux compartments will be able to take a shower in their compartments – since each of them will be equipped with a toilet, washbasin and shower.

In November of 2011 new water park will open in St. Petersburg, which will be the largest in Russia. SOCHI PLANS TO WELCOME ALMOST THREE MILLION TOURISTS THIS SUMMER
Russia’s Black Sea resort, Sochi, plans to welcome at least 2.8 million guests in summer. Despite the preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, the resort sector is a priority for local administration.
Summer season in 2011 will begin a month earlier, than usually – on May 14. Before the swimming period begins, the city will launch a major promotional campaign in Russia’s cities, which population exceeds one million.
CRUISE TOURISM FOR EVERYBODY
The third stage of passenger port construction, which was 18 billion rubles in cost, is almost complete, and in May of this year the ownership of «Marine Facade» will be granted to St. Petersburg. This port is used for cruise and ferry vessels with the length up to 311 metres and draught up to 9 metres. The length of new channel is 10 kilometres with the depth of 11 metres. New port has four terminals — one ferry and three cruise and in total 7 berths: five cruisers, one ferry and one cruise- ferry berth. With the completion of the construction number of the port arrivals to St. Petersburg will increase.In 2011, «Marine Facade» plans to accept 211 cruise ships and 110 ferries. For instance in 2010, the port accepted 187 cruise ships and 74 ferries. Compared with last year passenger traffic will increase from 368 thousand to 429 thousand people.
FINLAND RAILWAY STATION WILL UNDERGO MAJOR RECONSTRUCTION
Russian Railways have decided to create stations of the future. The Finland Station in St. Petersburg will be one of the first to undergo those changes. According to general construction plan it is planned to build above platforms of the station a large shopping and hotel complex, conference center, offices, parking- on the roof, bus station and a heliport deck.
The first stage of reconstruction of the Finland station began in May 2010. Next year, Russian Railways will begin the second phase of reconstruction, it will include the construction of shopping complex. At the same time, local authorities want to create a fully functional hub around the Finland station – which is supposed to combine railway, public transport, subway and upcoming bus station. It is expected that the hub will also include water trolley station and a heliport deck.
Passenger traffic at the station has grown due to the launch in December of last year of a high-speed train «Allegro» on the route St.Petersburg — Helsinki. As a result, the number of Finnish tourists arriving to the city increased by 20% and, according to expectations in 2011 amount will be close to 5 million people.

An exhibition of Faberge jewelry and his contemporaries opens in Moscow. The exposition will also feature items from the famous Cartier collections. Starting from tomorrow everyone will be able to see unique treasures at Moscow Kremlin Museum.
